Our Chickens
Our free range eggs are laid by carefully selected chicken breeds, principally the Burford Brown, Cotswold Legbar, Hyline and Lohmann. |
 |
Burford Brown
The "brown" acually refers to the colour of the eggs, rather than that of the hen, while Burford is the Cotswold village where they were first bred in the early 1900s.
Their eggs have large deep yellow yolks and a super flavour. |
Cotswold Legbar
The Cotswold Legbar chicken was bred over several generations by crossing birds originating in South America, with White Leghorns and Gold Legbars.
These vocal, intelligent hens like nothing better than roaming the fields in the company of our other animals. They produce superb, full-flavoured eggs. |
